چکیده
Abstract We document the evolution of north–south asymmetry (NSA) Titan’s haze albedo during Cassini mission between 2004 and 2017. analyze coadded cube images taken at 96 distinct wavelengths 0.35 1.05 μ m by Visual Infrared Mapping Spectrometer (VIMS-V) instrument from 14 Titan flybys. Over half a year, we observe near-complete transition in NSA boundary latitude across geographic equator southern to northern hemisphere, including 3 yr fading for several years after equinox. The matches previous observations reversal Hubble Space Telescope before winter solstice 1997 2000. A comparison similar times but different phase angles shows is detectable, albeit with less contrast, moderately high (∼90°). Analysis T61 T67 VIMS further supports small tilt superrotating atmosphere solid body Titan, as suggested analysis 0.890 Imaging Science Subsystem.

un 2 01 5 Saturn ’ s aurora observed by the Cassini camera at visible wavelengths .
The first observations of Saturn’s visible-wavelength aurora were made by the Cassini camera. The aurora was observed between 2006 and 2013 in the northern and southern hemispheres. The color of the aurora changes from pink at a few hundred km above the horizon to purple at 1000-1500 km above the horizon. The spectrum observed in 9 filters spanning wavelengths from 250 nm to 1000 nm has a promi...
متن کاملOptical Interferometry : Imaging at Visible and Infrared Wavelengths
Progress in astronomy is dependent on the development of new instrumentation that can provide data which are better in some way than the data which were available before. One improvement that has consistently led to astronomical discoveries is that of seeing finer detail in objects. In astronomy, the majority of the objects under study cannot easily be brought closer for inspection, so the typi...

متن کاملA polychromatic approach to far-field superlensing at visible wavelengths
Breaking the diffraction barrier in the visible part of the electromagnetic spectrum is of fundamental importance. Far-field subwavelength focusing of light could, for instance, drastically broaden the possibilities available in nanolithography, light-matter interactions and sensing at the nanoscale. Similarly, imaging with a nanometric resolution could result in incredible breakthroughs in sof...
متن کاملPrecise Measurement of Lunar Spectral Irradiance at Visible Wavelengths
We report a measurement of lunar spectral irradiance with an uncertainty below 1 % from 420 nm to 1000 nm. This measurement uncertainty meets the stability requirement for many climate data records derived from satellite images, including those for vegetation, aerosols, and snow and ice albedo. It therefore opens the possibility of using the Moon as a calibration standard to bridge gaps in sate...
